Given troubling new trends, reports, and stories from Florida’s most vulnerable residents, the Medicaid Matters for Florida Coalition, are renewing their call to state lawmakers to join 36 states and DC that have expanded Medicaid.
The coalition’s case for urgency is underscored by new research from the Center on Budget and Policy Priorities showing that about 2,800 older Floridians have died prematurely because the state has not expanded its Medicaid program to adults with low income. Each day Florida doesn’t expand lawmakers continue to put the health and lives of adults stuck in the “coverage gap” at risk.
On January 28 and 29, join health advocacy organizations, medical professionals, and local residents for press conferences highlighting the urgency of this moment across the state. On Thurs, Jan. 30 join us online for a Medicaid Expansion 101 presentation!
