I’ve been uninsured since 2015, after I lost my job. I was hospitalized and had a hard time finding work afterwards. I’ve relied on charity care and sliding scale services since then. I went to therapy and received check-ups through free clinics. I also was able to go to a urologist and physical therapist through charity care. I am currently not receiving charity care as it has expired and I am in the process of renewing it. I feel receiving health coverage can greatly benefit everyone. It helped me when I had nowhere else to turn.
